In 2022, I was blessed with the opportunity to collaborate with Voleti Media to create an illustration for the Indonesian BUMN (State-Owned Enterprises) Annual Report Book. I was entrusted with designing the cover illustration, centered around the theme of growth and transformation, while incorporating the 12 main divisions of BUMN.
Based on the client’s direction, I explored several cover concepts—from clean vector styles to a hand-drawn watercolor-inspired look, which was ultimately approved.
All illustrations were hand-drawn on an iPad Pro using Adobe Fresco and Apple Pencil.
After finalizing the cover, I went on to illustrate mascots representing each of the 12 divisions, used as page dividers throughout the report. I was also assigned to draw several iconic buildings owned by each division, which I’ll be sharing in part two of this project.
This experience taught me a lot about working professionally with large organizations and significantly improved my communication skills.
In the end, all parties were happy with the results, and I feel proud to have co-created this project alongside Voleti Media and the Government. It also gave me a deep respect for the people working in each division—building and shaping a better Indonesia.
I hope this country continues to grow and transform into her best self, year after year.
